Provence markets and festivities

If, like us, you’re a fan of Provence’s markets and want to combine exploring the stalls with enjoying the festivities, here’s a selection of events featuring food and craft stallholders.

1. Truffe en fête

Truffle festival

The most gourmet weekend of the winter is undoubtedly in Grimaud! In February, Truffe en fête and its fragrant market take over the Place Neuve.
The truffle is, of course, in the spotlight, with a host of gourmet stalls (cheeses, charcuterie, foie gras, wines, etc.) and craft stalls (knives, etc.) to accompany the “black diamond”.
The festival also includes a number of events, including demonstrations of “cavage” (searching for truffles), tours and cookery workshops.

2. Foire de la Laine

Wool Fair

A day to enjoy a crafts and producers market while surrounded by farm animals. The Foire de la Laine (Wool fair) is the place for you!
Every Ascension Day, food and craft stalls come together in Grimaud for a day of traditions in the May sunshine.

3. Fête du village

Village festival

In mid-August, on the last day of the village festival, a host of events take place, including Grimaud’s only night market of the summer, with over 50 hand-picked stallholders.
Producers and craftspeople present their products in a lively and jovial atmosphere.

4. Les Médiévales de la Saint-Michel

The Saint-Michael Medieval Fair

The Saint-Michel Medieval Festival is a weekend event that combines the Saint-Michel festival with the Grimaud Medieval Festival.

Blending tradition and history, it’s a great opportunity to sort out your belongings and do some shopping on this last Sunday in September.

5. The organic market

On the second Sunday of every month, the organic and zero waste market invites you to enjoy a selection of organic, eco-friendly products.
It’s a fun place to be, with a shared kitchen and sometimes a repair café.

6. Dessine-moi une tomate

With the aim of helping and supporting as many people as possible to change their consumption habits and their relationship with the environment, ‘Dessine moi une tomate’ is an eco-friendly event featuring a range of workshops, talks and more.
An organic and eco-friendly market is also set up in the grounds of the Notre-Dame de la Queste Chapel in mid-September as part of this event.

7. Port Grimaud night-time market

It’s great to be back at the Port Grimaud night markets in July and August!

Stroll along the canals of Port Grimaud as night falls… Enjoy the view and the market crafts.

8. Provence markets

If you love the traditional market and going with your basket in the morning to pick out the best seasonal fruit and vegetables, there’s plenty for you in Grimaud!

In the village on Thursdays all year round, and in Port Grimaud on Thursday and Sunday mornings from April to October.
