Truffle Festival

Market

The Haut-Var area is a stronghold of the black truffle ‘Tuber Melanosporum’. For a whole weekend, the truffle is celebrated as part of a festival of taste and sensation in Grimaud in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.”

THE TRUFFLE REVEALED

“Black Diamond”

With the arrival of February, the centre of Grimaud is transformed into a vast gastronomical market for a long weekend devoted to an exceptional product, the truffle.

Nestling in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez at the gateway to the Massif des Maures, Grimaud is a champion when it comes to the art of living.
Fresh, seasonal produce takes pride of place in our gourmet and bistro-style restaurants that serve flavours from Provence and beyond.
The municipality is proud of its local production and has made every effort to encourage agriculture, especially in the vineyards: Our star products are Provence wine and olive oil!

So why is the Truffle under the spotlight?
The truffle is the ultimate seasonal product and it has a special place in the hearts of the people of Var.
It so beautifully exalts our region’s flagship products, and it’s not surprising that so many of our restaurants make it the star of their winter menus.
So it was only natural for Grimaud, keen to convey the specific values of a ‘refined production area’, to associate its image with this delicious tuber.

Gourmet market

The Truffe & You Market are the perfect opportunity to try or to rediscover our region’s culinary gems and share them in a moment of warmth and togetherness.

On the Place Neuve in the heart of the old village of Grimaud, thirty or so exhibitors invite you to come and learn about their product and promise to make your mouth water:
truffles rule, of course, but you’ll also find cheese, charcuterie, salted meats, foie gras, various gourmet preparations (containing truffles, naturally!)

A delicious way to demonstrate that Grimaud knows all about hospitality, whatever the time of year!

Black truffles are gathered between 1st January and mid-March.
