Christmas for all ages in Grimaud

in Grimaud

The transition to winter time brings the glitter of festive lights, the whiff of hot chocolate and Christmas entertainment to brighten up the month of December before the arrival of Father Christmas and the festivities.

1. La Fête de la Lumière

Grimaud Light Festival

The festival of lights officially launches Grimaud’s Christmas festivities. This is a moment when young and old alike are eager to rediscover their childlike spirit as they parade through the village, activating the magic of Christmas so that the lights finally shine brightly. Live entertainment, mulled chocolate and wine, and roasted chestnuts are all part of the festivities to kick off the month of December in style.

2. Shepherd’s Christmas

An evening celebrating the traditions of yesteryear, with a shepherd’s meal and the unmissable 13 Provençal Christmas desserts.

All this is set to music by the Escandihado folk group for a 100% Provençal experience.

3. Les Ailes d’Hiver

Christmas at the Mill

It is during ‘Les ailes d’Hiver: féérie de Noël au moulin!’ (2025) that Santa stops off in Grimaud before his big tour on 25th December. Come and experience Christmas in Grimaud.

Festive activities follow one after another until the fireworks display above the Château de Grimaud, leaving you with memories to last a lifetime.

4. The organic Christmas market

Now an unmissable event, the organic market is held on the second Sunday of every month. At Christmas, the market puts on its festive costume to offer you a selection of ethical and eco-friendly gifts that are 100% local.

There’s also a Christmas “gratiferia” (free market) and the inevitable mulled wine.

5. The CRET Christmas show

Every year, the apprentice actors from Grimaud’s theatre troupe present their light-hearted end-of-year show, sharing their love of the stage and the joy of the festive season.

6. Story time or fairy tales

Another touch of magic for little ones, who will be carried away by the story that is told and staged each year.

It’s a great way to introduce them to the classics and have fun at the same time.

7. Advent evening

“Grimaud Europe” brings together friends of Grimaud from all over the world. It’s an opportunity for everyone to prepare traditional specialities from their own country or region for a convivial occasion.

Don’t hesitate to join in and share your customs.
