A town hall since the 19th century
Since at least the 16th century, this building has been used as a ‘clastre’. In the south of France, this name, derived from Latin, was used to designate the curial house.
In the 19th century, the Town Hall, previously located in what is now rue des Templiers, moved here, as did the Justice of the Peace and the boys’ school.
At that time, the small garden below the forecourt was reserved for the teacher to grow vegetables.
