Anniversary evening - 20 years of Soirées Musicales de Grimaud

Works by Mozart (opening to The Marriage of Figaro, "Jupiter" Symphony), Haydn (trumpet Concerto)

Founded in 1975, the Orchestre national de Cannes, which received a Victoire de la Musique d'Honneur award in 2005 for its work as a whole, is now directed by Benjamin Lévy.
Very active on the European lyrical and symphonic stages, this young and brilliant conductor brings a new approach to each of his concert appearances. He has been Marc Minkowski's assistant at the Paris Opera, the Salzburg Festival and the Amsterdam Opera, and associate conductor of the Dutch Radio Orchestras from 2009 to 2011.

The Orchestre national de Cannes is a faithful partner of the Soirées Musicales de Grimaud. For nearly 50 years, it has been touring France, always with the same enthusiasm, supported by its loyal partners, the City of Cannes, the Ministry of Culture, the Alpes-Maritimes Department, the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, the companies that are members of the Andantino Club and the Friends of the Orchestra.
It offers the public innovative and audacious programmes, led by renowned and quality artists. At the beginning of 2022, the Ministry of Culture granted the orchestra the "Orchestre National en Région" label, which it shares with the Orchestre d'Avignon, being the only orchestras in the southern region to obtain this national recognition.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Soirées Musicales de Grimaud in the prestigious setting of the castle overlooking the Gulf and the Mediterranean, we will hear, around the major page of the history of music that constitutes the grandiose and majestic Symphony No. 41 in C major, K. 551, known as "Jupiter", Mozart's ultimate symphony, the overture to The Marriage of Figaro, one of the composer's most emblematic operas, and the brilliant sounds of Joseph Haydn's famous trumpet Concerto.
