It's time for Sainte-Maxime's annual Corso du mimosa!
It is more than just a custom; the entire community participates in the event. These golden pompons, which are distributed to the numerous guests that travel particularly for the event, provide joy and fervor to all the locals and businesses in the heart of winter.
The 12 floats that make up Sainte-Maxime's Corso du Mimosa are adorned by as many local groups, who gather on Saturday morning to put flowers on each float. Jokes and group projects are created in a collaborative setting to exhibit the most attractive floats for the parade that will take place the following day on the coastal promenade.
The parade which this year will focus on world festivals, transforms the entire city into the hues of our favorite flower and fills the air with its inimitable aroma. Street performances between each float set the pace of the parade, and multiple sections are designed so that everyone may fully enjoy the entertainment and take in each flower arrangement.
For a seated viewing experience of the full Corso du Mimosa, stands have been constructed on the A. Simon-Lorière promenade and are only accessible by reservation.
