The talk will present some of the works by women in the Musée d'Orsay's collections: in addition to the classics, we'll discover some new acquisitions, recently hung in the galleries of the permanent tour.

These include a masterpiece of Pre-Raphaelite painting by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale, a realist painting by Swedish artist Fanny Brate and a landscape by Finnish artist Helene Schjerbeck.

The conference will also open up the museum's backstage area to listeners, by showing a few graphic works, recently acquired or even in the process of being acquired.
