Cultural, Festival, Theatre in Ramatuelle

  • By Eric Emmanuel Schmitt.
    Directed by Jérémie Lippmann
    With Mathilde and Emmanuelle Seigner
In 1960, two legendary couples stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.

  • Simone Signoret and Yves Montant live in bungalow 20: they love each other, they're handsome, still young, full of life and at the height of their fame. But Marilyn Monroe, living in the bungalow next door, is an irresistible woman whose relationship with writer Arthur Millet is on the rocks. Simone becomes Marilyn's friend, while Yves tours with her, trying to resist her seduction. Alas, Arthus runs away. The lives of four people are about to be shattered...

Simone Signoret and Yves Montant live in bungalow 20: they love each other, they're handsome, still young, full of life and at the height of their fame. Simone becomes Marilyn's friend, while Yves tours with her, trying to resist her seduction. Alas, Arthus runs away. The lives of four people are about to be shattered...
Neither of the two women will ever really recover from this story, and everyone will be plunged into self-doubt.
An ordinary story of love, pride, adultery, bad faith and forgiveness, with extraordinary characters.
Based on an original idea by Benjamin Castaldi, Simone Signoret's grandson, Eric Emmanuel Schmitt composes an intense, sensitive play in which four figures from the history of cinema grapple with their thwarted desires, their frailties and their humanity.
Bungalow 21 is a striking portrait of two endearing women, as famous as they are damaged.
