Gérard ABRIAL; Toutes Voiles Dehors.

Gérard ABRIAL has lived in Saint Tropez since 1974, and after 7 years of study at the Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he soon returned to the land of light, color and joie de vivre.

Every day, he draws as he breathes. 50 years devoted to painting is a work of art.

His "Sfumato" style, as the Italians call it, his soaring gesture, as he is in life, he is in the wind.

He loves the sea in motion.

Mistral colors, vivid; winter colors, cold; dark colors of storms, to the point of black.

Black and white, he loves contrasts. It's also his character.
He often throws white onto his canvases, as if he were throwing light, life in short.

The wild life of animals also inspires him, as does Africa, music, dance, sport - anything that moves, that lives!

This exhibition, Toutes Voiles Dehors, is in symbiosis with the Voiles de Saint Tropez event, whose birth he witnessed from the Nioulargue onwards, and which has grown from a simple end-of-season get-together with friends to an international success.

The common thread running through this exhibition at this time of year, with ABRIAL, is the love of the sea, of movement, of friendship, each in their own way.
