  • On the bridge of the ships, I tried this flattening on a sea urchin test I called "Mercator's Sea Urchin".


    Gérard Mercator, geographer and mathematician born in Belgium in 1512, was the first man to represent our planet flat. His very precise work on longitudes and latitudes led him to develop all the oceans and continents on a map.
    A sea urchin is designed on the basis of a "five", with each element linked to the other by five intermediate elements, creating a decagon when laid flat....
