Dedication Conference: The Hand of Mercy

Cultural, Conference in Sainte-Maxime

  • Yves Miséricordia offers us to follow the path of his hand which led him to explore various fields of art.

As part of the exhibition dedicated to the artist organized in the Jean Portal room, the Jehanne Arnaud Media Library receives Yves Miséricordia (Painter, Sculptor, Engraver, Poet) for a conference-dedication, during which he proposes to follow the path of his hand which led him to explore various fields of art. A journey where writing and gesture mingle with drawing and colour and bear "the imprint, the trace, then the cry and the writing".

The hands leave an original imprint on what they touch, what they work, on the daily work of an artist, poet, maker, actor… The hands have the distance of the arms to liberate the gaze, letting express the imprint of the tools of which we are loved.

The hands are "the meteors of the head, as the symbols of the heart" as Verlaine wrote.

They are the shadow and gold of our freedoms, of what is done and written in the beginning, in us. Hands have silent words held to the echo of our thoughts. They draw the incoming script of our soul, rhythming its music with a transparent writing before being ink drawings in front of the gaze.

My hands are the wings that sting my heart. Then I find the sky with fingers laden with pollen. (Yves Miséricordia)
