Concert : Elizabeth Sombart - Les Nocturnes de Chopin

Cultural, Concert, Classical music in Sainte-Maxime
  • Born in Strasbourg, Elizabeth Sombart devoted her life to music from an early age. She travelled the world after her studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory. She perfected her knowledge with Bruno Leonardo Gelber in Argentina, Peter Feuchtwanger in London and Hilde Langer-Rühl in Vienna. Later on, the teaching of Sergiu Celibidache at the University of Mainz left a clear mark and influence on the pianist's career.
A rich life of tours and recordings (on various labels including BMG) followed for Elizabeth Sombart.

In 1998, she created the Résonnance Foundation, whose mission is to bring music to the most disadvantaged places (prisons, refugee camps, orphanages, hospitals, etc.). The Foundation has its headquarters in Switzerland and branches throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Within the framework of the Foundation the pianist has also developed a teaching method and gives numerous master classes. In 2022, she opened a platform where numerous online piano masterclasses are available.

In 2008, Elizabeth Sombart was awarded the rank of "Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" for her artistic career.

A life dedicated to music, sharing, and pedagogical research.

With mentors such as Bruno Leonado Gelber and Sergiu Celibidache, Elizabeth Sombart travels the world and disseminates music to as many people as possible.

In recent years she has undertaken several recording projects, both as a solo pianist and through her exciting collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London.

You will also find her in numerous concerts in Europe, England and the Middle East, both in concert halls and in places of solidarity.
