Christmas in Canada

On the village's church square, you'll find 2 days of magical celebrations featuring a wide range of activities: real Canadian chalets, one of which has been converted into Santa's house, with the star of the day himself inside, a campfire with musicians, demonstrations of "snow taffy", those famous maple syrup lollipops melted and poured over snow, a pancake-making workshop, readings of Canadian tales... and so many other surprises!

Not forgetting, of course, the now traditional fireworks display over the Château de Grimaud, ever more magical, ever more enchanting, and even longer and more intense, on Saturday December 23 at 6.30pm! And, as in previous years, it will be best viewed from the Moulin Saint-Roch, with complimentary mulled wine, hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows!

On the program:

Friday, December 22, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

- Continuous: Canadian chalets; live Canadian music around the campfire; sugar shack; taffy demonstrations and tastings; Santa Claus in his chalet; Christmas workshops: writing a letter to Santa, creative workshops (making Christmas decorations to put on the tree), maple syrup pancake workshop...; giant wooden games for the whole family to enjoy!

- And at 4pm & 6pm: Canadian story readings

- At 4:00, 5:00 & 6:30 p.m.: treasure hunt in the village, discovering Canada!

Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm

- Continuous: Canadian chalets; live Canadian music around the campfire; sugar shack; taffy demonstrations and tastings; presence of Santa Claus in his chalet; Christmas workshops: writing a letter to Santa Claus, creative workshops (making Christmas decorations to put on the tree), maple syrup pancake workshop...; face painting workshop; wood carving demonstration by Willy Niodo...

- And at 10:00 am, 2:00 pm & 5:00 pm: Canadian story readings

- At 10:30 am, 11:30 am & 4:30 pm: treasure hunt in the village, discovering Canada!

- At 11:00 am, 2:30 pm & 4:00 pm: our Christmas Batucada and its 8 musicians take to the streets!

- From 12:30 pm: Christmas lunch in the heart of our Canadian village, or to take away: Quebec specialities, maple syrup pancakes, drinks... (payable on site, cash only, no reservation required).

- 3:00 pm: Christmas show for children: "Le coffre magique de Noël" by Julien Sigalas.
An initiatory and interactive tale, by turns funny, touching and quirky. The tribulations of Firmin, a spoiled little boy who, thanks to a magic chest, travels over the Himalayas to Canada and learns the essentials. He'll always remember... His best Christmas present ever. Zany characters, crazy situations, a dash of adventure and lots of tenderness. All these elements come together in this story that smacks of Christmas magic.

- 6pm: Christmas parade through the village, from Place de l'Église to the Moulin Saint-Roch!

- 6:30pm: musical fireworks display over the Château de Grimaud, visible from the Moulin Saint-Roch! Mulled wine, hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows offered by Grimaud Animations around the mill.

Free, open-access entertainment (except for lunch on Saturday lunchtime, for which a cash fee will be charged).
